Māori experiences of pandemics: Learning from the past to strengthen pandemic preparedness among Indigenous populations Dr Clive Aspin (Ngāti Maru, Ngāti Whanaunga, Ngāti Tamaterā) in a Māori (Indigenous) researcher who has lived experience of multiple pandemics, including those caused by HIV, Covid-19, and poor mental health. Drawing on lessons learned from past and present pandemics, this talk will identify and discuss Indigenous-centred approaches to overcome the likely challenges posed by future pandemics.
