AP/CMDS 4140 6.0 Communications Field Experience: Corporate and Cultural

Although the Field Experience Placement Course is an undergraduate course, it is not typical of other undergraduate courses. Students who wish to take the course must meet the basic selection criteria and complete an online form to participate in this course.

1. Have earned at least 90 credits.

2. Have at least a B average.

3. You are in the final year of the four-year undergraduate program.

4. You major in Communication and Media Studies.

Once a student's eligibility and readiness are assessed, the student is given permission by the course director to register in CMDS 4140. Each student in the course is expected to attend in-person professional skills workshops, complete reflective assignments, and secure an unpaid placement position in a partner organization where they must complete 8 hours per week for 9 weeks in the fall term (September - December 2024) and 9 weeks in the winter term (January - April 2025).
