Visiting Graduate Associate Application | York Centre for Asian Research

Visiting Graduate Associates are graduate students from universities other than York and who are actively involved in research on Asia or Asian Diasporas.

The length of term of a Visiting Graduate Associate shall be decided on a case-by-case basis and may be renewed at the discretion of the Director in consultation with the Membership Committee.

Please note that all applicants are expected to be self-funded.

YCAR will contact you after we have received your completed application to confirm receipt and/or if we require additional information before considering your application.

All applications go before the YCAR Membership Committee, which meet six times per academic year: 15 January, 15 March, 15 June, 15 September, 15 October and 1 December.

PLEASE NOTE that York University and YCAR continue to operate at reduced capacity and will continue to do so into the Winter 2022 term. As such, all applicants should provide a strong justification why a physical presence in Toronto for the research connected with their proposal/visit is necessary for its success.
